Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer.

What’s different between TerraFlex and Mesa Trail?

The TerraFlex is our first shoe designed for trails. With a rugged, stitched upper, it’s great for running and hiking.

The Mesa Trail is made more specifically for trail running, with a lightweight breathable mesh upper, extra moisture wicking lining, and a protective welded covering for the adjustable midfoot and instep straps.

Both shoes have a grippy, lugged, dual-chevron tread, and a 3mm TrailFoam layer (“hiding” in the outsole) for just-right protection and comfort.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

Almost perfect

These shoes are awesome. My only complaint is that when you take the insole out to run them truly “barefoot” the inner sole of the shoe doesn’t have fabric like most barefoot shoes. Instead, it’s a slippery material like you’d expect to see in a normal non-barefoot shoe not designed to take the insole out. As your feet sweat this surface becomes very slippery and your foot starts sliding around in the shoe. Not ideal on long hikes, especially with weight on your back. These are awesome shoes but I think they’re designed to be used with the insole. If you want a true barefoot experience with them, then perhaps glue some fabric in the shoe so they perform like other similar barefoot shoes.

Need a wider toe box please

Third pair of the mesa trail for me all have blown out the sides of the toe box within a few months also have purchased two pairs of the Excursion fusions they have also blown out the sides I tried the next size up and then my toes went through the top. Xero Shoes are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn though they just need a wider toe box area.

I ordered these because I love the first ones I'd bought on 1 September 2023. I'm seeing a small crack in my current ones, though they are still waterproof. I thought I'd better buy a backup pair while they are available. When I received my original pair, the laces were too hard to pull through the loops, so I used thinner laces. This new pair seems to feel stiff. I was going to save them for later, but perhaps I should try giving them a workout to see if the stiffness persists? I generally wear the current pair anytime I'm out of the house, other than when I'm working in the garden, including all Winter near Buffalo, NY.
